In watchOS 9, the Sleep app is added sleep stage or sleep cycle tracking. watchOS 9 sleep cyclesĪpple Watch sleep tracking has improved incrementally since it first debuted two years ago. If you run the same route often, your Apple Watch will automatically be able to compare your performance over time on that route.įinally, triathletes will benefit from a new Multisport workout type that can automatically transition between swimming, biking and running. You'll also run with a power target, or target effort in a range you can reasonably sustain. A custom workout can add structure into your run, pushing alerts to your wrist based on your heart rate and distance. Your heart rate zones will play a role in the new Custom workout tool. Monitoring your heart rate zones can help you get a sense of your intensity levels, and let you know how hard you're working (and whether you're recovering properly) during exercise. Vertical oscillation, stride length and ground contact time will now be seen among an upgraded live workout interface - which also includes segments, splits, elevation and the other expected metrics.Ī new metric for Apple Watch workout-tracking is heart rate zones. With multiple new running metrics, there are more ways to monitor your running and progress. To recap, the 41mm model still retains the same RM1,899 starting price, though the larger 45mm model now retails from RM2,049 RM50 more than last year’s Series 8.The Apple Watch is making a convincing case against the best running watches. If you’re keen to get the new Series 9, you can do so now over at Apple’s Malaysian online store. Sure, there’s a slight price hike, but you are getting a smarter, greener wearable with a twice as bright display now. Unfortunately, this means the feature will not be coming to older Apple Watch models.Įven though the Apple Watch Series 9 sees no drastic design changes, the upgrades under the hood do make for a better smartwatch as a whole. The double tap gesture is enabled with the Series 9’s new S9 SiP chip, sporting a 64-bit dual-core processor and a four-core Apple Neural Engine. I can tap my thumb and pinky fingers together too, though this doesn’t feel particularly intuitive. ![]() From what I can tell so far, the smartwatch can recognise the double tap quite well, and it’s not even limited to a double tap of the thumb and index fingers. ![]() While double tap is not released yet to the public, I tested out the new gesture on the Series 9 with the public beta release of watchOS 10.1. Basically, the gesture allows users to control the primary button in any given app with just a double tap of the index finger and thumb. It’s also still an LTPO OLED panel, which enables the always-on display of the smartwatch.Īnd then there’s the new double tap gesture, which is offered by both the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Personally, I never had any issue with the brightness level of the Series 8, but a brighter screen is always a good thing in my books. The display is now brighter than ever with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, which is doubled from the Series 8. The changes under the hood, however, are quite major. The Apple Watch Series 9 (left) and Series 8Īs mentioned, there are no design changes between the Series 9 and last year’s Series 8 they are basically identical to each other. It’s worth noting that with the Series 9, the wireless charger now features a braided cable for added durability very nice. My particular configuration comes with the Sport Loop strap, and in this Midnight colourway, it’s touted as a carbon-neutral option. Once you unbox the white packaging of the Series 9, you’ll see two boxes: one for the smartwatch case itself, as well as a strap of your choice. Nonetheless, you do get more smartwatch for the money now. The larger 45mm model – the one you see here – now starts at RM2,049 that’s RM50 more than the 45mm Series 8. The best part is? It retains the same RM1,899 starting price.Īt least, that’s the case for the smaller 41mm model of the Apple Watch Series 9. On top of that, it is also greener now, with certain configuration of the wearable being touted as Apple’s first-ever carbon-neutral product. Not only does it have a brighter display, the Apple Watch Series 9 also features the new double tap gesture. While the design of the smartwatch doesn’t see any changes from the Series 8, the new Series 9 does have some noteworthy upgrades under the hood. The Apple Watch Series 9 is finally available in Malaysia after its debut back at Apple’s September event last month. ![]() Since 2000, Undercover Tourist has sold millions of tickets to top Orlando attractions, and launched into Southern California attractions in June 2014. However, the focus has been on the workers of factories producing gas masks during the Second World War whose health and causes of death were analysed in the 1970s and 1980s in Britain and Canada, for instance. The connection between the filter cartridges of old gas masks and asbestos has long been known around the world. In this blog post, we explain how we investigated the matter and what we eventually found out. In spring 2020 we decided to find out whether these suspicions were true. However, we had to scrap these plans at the last minute when we discovered that the filters of old gas masks may contain asbestos. In 2015 we made plans to place one of the civilian gas masks on display in the University Museum’s new main exhibition, The Power of Thought. The collections also include an equine gas mask dating back to the 1930s or 1940s which is of an unknown origin. The University Museum has received the masks from hospitals and University of Helsinki departments. The collections of the Helsinki University Museum include eight gas masks, of which seven are from the 1930s and intended for the civilian population. The gas mask originally belonged to the University of Helsinki Department of Pharmacology. There is basically no benefit to the timer existing other than to facilitate the key upgrade/degradation portion of the System. And for everyone else, it's a tool to brag about doing the bare minimum and not utterly failing at being abyssmally mid-tier. It's been echoed a couple of times on Channels that you'd think would be all for the existence of a timer, but the reality is that it's just a hassle for everyone when you compare alternatives prominent figures in the M+ and Raiding Communities have come up with over time. Raids dont have a timer so why should dungeons have?Generally nothing wrong with the idea, never has been. Removing the timer! Enjoying the content by clearing it was one of the fonding memories back in the days, not being "skill checked" is clearly what is needed to bring new players to WoW. Now the new expansion have a chance to breath into it new fresh air by making it to something simple. We have had the same system since Legion and it has only led to being on being declined steam roll on dungeon finder. ![]() But that's the price you pay for convenience. If you want the convenience of LFD/LFR/PuGs, you're going to get some less than pleasant experiences along the way. Use wow communities or Discord to find other players with similar goals and play with them for a better experience. Find other fellow players who want a "chill" run and group up. If you truly want a better experience, then go into those dungeons with a pre-made group. To Gary, doing TW as fast as possible is his goal because he still has 3 more alts to go to do TW weekly. This mismatch of different goals is part of the issue. So let's say you're up for casually running a TW dungeon but Gary over there is on his 6th toon because he wants to complete the weekly for the heroic cache. As I stated previously, your time is valuable to you and so is the time the other players spend valuable to them. I mean this goes back to differing goals between players. I don't know if everything that's gone wrong with WoW's community can be pinned on Blizz focusing on the 'gogogo' philosophy, but it certainly hasn't helped. Hell, normal dungeons used to be fairly relaxed but are now treated with the seriousness of a high-key M+. Now, the culture in low-lvl dungeons has shifted to how it is in M+ and endgame content with everyone rushing, pulling a million mobs and cursing out/kicking anyone that doesn't keep up. It was a chill bit of fun with people trying out new specs and new classes. I used to spend a lot of time in low-lvl Chromie time dungeons (up to lvl59) because it was one of the only places left in the game where most people didn't take it seriously. If you don't want your time "wasted", don't "waste" theirs either.Īgreed. Your time is valuable to you and so is their time valuable to them. When do you call it? After 5 wipes? 10 wipes? 20 wipes? Is that what the your party members signed up for?Īgain all of that falls on the group leader to make it clear to the party what the goals are and when to call it (or have the run called by one of the party members). For example, you're on X boss in Y dungeon on Tyrannical week and EVEN with Heroism and all your pots/flask/food, the group STILL can't meet the DPS check and keeps wiping on the boss. Meanwhile Gary over there doesn't mind staying over an hour in a dungeon.Īnd is there an acceptable limit where it's ok to quit the run because frankly the team isn't up to the task. Maybe Sally over there only has 30~40 minutes to do this dungeon (because reasons) and can't be tied down to do a 2+ hour run. ![]() Do they have the same goals as you do? Are they willing to stick out the dungeon to the end (aka for completion or great vault progress)?Īdditionally, let's say you are going to go over timer, how much time do you expect to go over and still be ok with the rest of the team members. I dont want people leaving for the reason the key wont make it after 20 minSo vet your party members better. |
