Generally, you'll start seeing capable players stomping out the absolutely maximum for gear acquisition within the first two weeks to some degree, after that, 20's or what we'd usually consider a 20 degrades in value and difficulty at such a rapid pace, that the whole system might as well just be blown open from the start. There is basically no benefit to the timer existing other than to facilitate the key upgrade/degradation portion of the System. And for everyone else, it's a tool to brag about doing the bare minimum and not utterly failing at being abyssmally mid-tier. It's been echoed a couple of times on Channels that you'd think would be all for the existence of a timer, but the reality is that it's just a hassle for everyone when you compare alternatives prominent figures in the M+ and Raiding Communities have come up with over time. Raids dont have a timer so why should dungeons have?Generally nothing wrong with the idea, never has been. Removing the timer! Enjoying the content by clearing it was one of the fonding memories back in the days, not being "skill checked" is clearly what is needed to bring new players to WoW. Now the new expansion have a chance to breath into it new fresh air by making it to something simple. We have had the same system since Legion and it has only led to being on being declined steam roll on dungeon finder. But that's the price you pay for convenience. If you want the convenience of LFD/LFR/PuGs, you're going to get some less than pleasant experiences along the way. Use wow communities or Discord to find other players with similar goals and play with them for a better experience. Find other fellow players who want a "chill" run and group up. If you truly want a better experience, then go into those dungeons with a pre-made group. To Gary, doing TW as fast as possible is his goal because he still has 3 more alts to go to do TW weekly. This mismatch of different goals is part of the issue. So let's say you're up for casually running a TW dungeon but Gary over there is on his 6th toon because he wants to complete the weekly for the heroic cache. As I stated previously, your time is valuable to you and so is the time the other players spend valuable to them. I mean this goes back to differing goals between players. I don't know if everything that's gone wrong with WoW's community can be pinned on Blizz focusing on the 'gogogo' philosophy, but it certainly hasn't helped. Hell, normal dungeons used to be fairly relaxed but are now treated with the seriousness of a high-key M+. Now, the culture in low-lvl dungeons has shifted to how it is in M+ and endgame content with everyone rushing, pulling a million mobs and cursing out/kicking anyone that doesn't keep up. It was a chill bit of fun with people trying out new specs and new classes. I used to spend a lot of time in low-lvl Chromie time dungeons (up to lvl59) because it was one of the only places left in the game where most people didn't take it seriously. If you don't want your time "wasted", don't "waste" theirs either.Īgreed. Your time is valuable to you and so is their time valuable to them. When do you call it? After 5 wipes? 10 wipes? 20 wipes? Is that what the your party members signed up for?Īgain all of that falls on the group leader to make it clear to the party what the goals are and when to call it (or have the run called by one of the party members). For example, you're on X boss in Y dungeon on Tyrannical week and EVEN with Heroism and all your pots/flask/food, the group STILL can't meet the DPS check and keeps wiping on the boss. Meanwhile Gary over there doesn't mind staying over an hour in a dungeon.Īnd is there an acceptable limit where it's ok to quit the run because frankly the team isn't up to the task. Maybe Sally over there only has 30~40 minutes to do this dungeon (because reasons) and can't be tied down to do a 2+ hour run. Do they have the same goals as you do? Are they willing to stick out the dungeon to the end (aka for completion or great vault progress)?Īdditionally, let's say you are going to go over timer, how much time do you expect to go over and still be ok with the rest of the team members. I dont want people leaving for the reason the key wont make it after 20 minSo vet your party members better.
